These are YOUR leaders

With so few days left before the next election I thought I would dive into the current state of politics in the country. It seems like every day we have another scandal splashing across the screens of our consciousness. It feels like the forces of good and evil are locked in battle but the reality is that we are all voting in a way that we 'believe' is right.

But I have an open challenge to all you republicans out there... look at what is going on and compare it to what your beliefs truly are:

• We have an Evangelical pastor, Rev. Ted Haggard, who has resigned in disgrace after credible drug and gay sex allegations have been made against him. He was the Senior Pastor of one of the largest churches in the nation, New Life Church, and the President of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) and bragged about his direct access to the President. The worst part is how he slams the 'gay' lifestyle, adultery, and other sins- what a hypocrite! He is YOUR leader!
• We have a Congressman, Mark Foley, who resigned in disgrace after being exposed as a pedophile. He has been prowling after young boys serving as pages for years and the leadership in Congress covered it up! He is YOUR leader!
• We have a gay prostitute, Jeff Gannon, given press credentials to the white house so that he could visit the President any time he wanted. He was given access to YOUR leader!
• We have a President who lied to get us into war. The result of which is chaos and death. Over 650,000 Iraqi dead and 2800+ US Soldiers dead so far! This war was started by YOUR leader!
• We have a republican congressman, Bob Nay, who has just resigned from Congress after pleading guilty to corruption charges related to the Jack Abramoff scandal. He is YOUR leader!
• Speaking of Abramoff, he was the most corrupt political operative in DC and he was working for, by and with YOUR leaders!
• We have Rush Limbaugh bashing the sick and blatantly lying on his show. He is the mouthpiece for YOUR leaders.
• The economy is rolling if you are a CEO, otherwise we are all scrimping to get by. Inflation is up, foreclosures are up, and outsourcing continues to hurt us. The BIG BIG BIG companies are making a ton of money and YOUR leaders are deeply in the pockets of these companies. Is it a coincidence that their friends are making money hand over fist? YOUR leaders are fleecing you!
• The congress and President have just signed into a law a bill that lets YOU be thrown into prison at the whim of the Predient. No trial, no charges, no lawyer or phone call, no protection by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. This new law also makes it legal for you to be tortured while you are there. YOUR leaders are stealing YOUR rights.

I could go on because the scandals continue to roll. The point is: you have been misled! You were promised change. You were promised conservative action. You were promised peace and security. You were promised a strong military but our current actions are breaking our military.

You have been lied to by YOUR leaders.

When you go into the voting booth this Tuesday I beg you to think about all of this. Are you really prepared to vote for more of the same? Do you want more scandals, a worsening economy, and continued destruction of our country and constitution? Power corrupts and we have seen it corrupt absolutely! If you want a change, vote for a change and vote Democrat for YOUR NEW leaders!
